Fraser’s Hill is named after a Scotsman, Louis James Fraser who was a prospector and dubious businessman. In the 1890s, After an unsuccessful stint in the goldfields of Australia Fraser set out to investigate the upper reaches of the Titiwangsa Range in Pahang State. He found some iron ore deposits on the current site of the centrally located golf course.
